Grilling with Berkhof
FOOD FOR THOUGHT
These healthy bombs full of calcium, iodine, and protein are easy to make. Shrimp is a type of seafood that is commonly consumed around the world. It is a small, shellfish that can be found in both saltwater and freshwater environments. Shrimp is a popular food source and can be prepared in a variety of ways, such as grilling, boiling, frying, and sautéing. It’s low in fat and calories.
Cut the garlic, and red onions into small pieces and the lemon into some slices.
Marinade the shrimp for 3 hours in olive oil mixed with garlic, red onions, lemon, black pepper, and salt
Grill the oiled shrimp for 1 minute per side (real big ones 2-3 minutes per side).
When the back of the shrimp is not transparent, they are ready to be served.
Move all the shrimp to the aluminum tray on the grill.
Add some nice white wine with the shrimp. I prefer a light and fresh white wine like a Sauvignon blanc, Verdejo, Chablis, Riesling, or Chenin Blanc.
Step 1
Take some shrimp and make sure they are clean (and not frozen). Cut the garlic, red onions, and lemon and mix them with black pepper, salt, and olive oil. From now, these sea heroes can go take a bath for 3 hours full of oil, fresh herbs, and spices.
Step 2
Start heating up your bbq and make sure that your bbq is around 200 C / 390 F to grill the shrimp.
Step 3
Grill them direct for 1 minute per side (bigger shrimps can take up to 2-3 minutes per side). But please take care of the time because grilling too long will result in dry shrimp which doesn’t have the taste you want.
Step 4
Put all the grilled shrimp into an aluminum tray with the marinade and add some nice white wine for the finishing touch.
While completing the previous steps you are ready to serve and make your guests happy.
